TopLab is a self-supporting flat panel based on thermosetting resins, homogeneously reinforced
with cellulose fibres, manufactured under high pressure. TopLab panels have an integrated, decorative surface based on pigmented, electron beam cured resins. Moreover, TopLab combines the outstanding scratch and wear resistance of Trespa Athlon panels with the proven chemical resistance of Trespa TopLab.
Benchtops across the broad range of chemical, biological and physical laboratories share common requirements. They need to be long lasting, easy to maintain and resistant to extreme conditions. TopLab meets these requirements and brings an added benefit - quality appearance, to provide an attractive multifunctional laboratory worktop that enhances the workplace.
24 hour Chemical Resistance.
TopLab resists most aggressive chemicals.
Its surface will not be damaged or stained if
aggressive chemicals are removed from it
within 24 hours. (Please refer to the
Chemical Resistance data sheet.)
Heat resistance.
TopLab surfaces can be exposed to continuous
used temperatures up to 140°C and
short-term exposure (up to 20 minutes) to
180°C, without any adverse effect, including
no loss of mechanical strength.
Easy to clean.
TopLab has minimal joints thereby reducing
the risk of contamination and simplifying the
cleaning process.
Accessories.
The machinability of TopLab, the same as
that of hardwood, makes it possible to incorporate
drip-cups, tap-holes and sinks. (Please
refer to the Design Indicators sheet.)
Hygienic.
The smooth, non-porous surface of TopLab
does not support the growth of bacteria or
fungi, nor can micro-organisms penetrate its
core. TopLab is therefore an ideal surface
for sterile areas.
Stain resistance.
TopLab is extremely resistant to most histological
and microscopical dyes and stains.
Easy to decontaminate.
TopLab benchtops are suitable for radiolabelled
compounds and are easy to decontaminate.
TopLab withstands conventional
organic solvents and soap-based cleaning
agents.
Scratch & Wear resistance.
The properties of the electron beam cured
resins gives TopLab a tough, hard wearing
surface.
Colours.
TopLab is available in a range of standard
colours. In addition, colours can be customised
where requirements exceed 1000 m2 per
colour. (Please refer to the Colour Card.)
Impact resistance.
The high rigidity of TopLab makes it suitable
for physical laboratories and areas in which
mechanical durability is required.
Versatile.
The non-reflective surface of TopLab is
warm to the touch and therefore ideal for
administrative work surfaces.
Product finishings.
Edges require no special treatment as
TopLab can be easily profiled, milled and
polished. These characteristics allow surfaces to
be tailored to specific laboratory requirements.
